| Supernatural Gang Reveals Season 4 Spoilers |
SEASON 4 SPOILERS IN THIS ARTICLE! DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED! The Supernatural panel at the San Diego Comic-Con was full of interesting teases, with the highlight being the unveiling of the first five minutes of the season 4 premiere. As exciting as the panel was, even more information about the upcoming episodes was revealed backstage, where creator Eric Kripke and stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki gathered to talk to the press. BuddyTV was there to chat with the folks behind the CW series, and they were more than happy to dish on what’s coming up for the Winchesters. While Jensen and Jared discussed what their characters will be going through in season 4, Kripke hinted at an episode that will show the brothers during their high school years. Will fans get a chance to see Sam and Dean as rowdy teenagers? Read more… » |

| Smallville and Supernatural Head to Comic-Con |
If you’re a fan of great television, there’s no better place to be at the end of July than the San Diego Comic-Con. The annual gathering features stars and creators from a variety of different shows, and they always arrive with enticing teases about upcoming plotlines. The 2008 convention, which takes place July 24-27, is going to be an especially great year for fans of two of the CW’s most popular shows: Smallville and Supernatural. Details on the Smallville panel are still unconfirmed, but Supernatural fans can look forward to getting up close and personal with Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. If you can’t make it to Comic-Con you can continue to check BuddyTV for updates, as we’ll be in San Diego to bring you all the biggest news as it happens. The folks behind Comic-Con still haven’t released an official event schedule, but Kryptonsite.com is reporting that the Smallville panel will take place on Sunday, July 27 from 10am – 11am. Last year, stars such as Laura Vandervoort, Erica Durance and Justin Hartley all attended, as did creators Al Gough and Miles Millar. Now that the creators are no longer involved with the series, it’s likely new showrunners Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson will appear to drop hints about season 8. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see new cast members Sam Witwer (Doomsday) and Cassidy Freeman (Tess), but their involvement remains unconfirmed. The Supernatural panel will kick off shortly after Smallville wraps up, taking place on July 27 from 11:15am – 12:15pm. Jensen, Jared, creator Eric Kripke, writers Sera Gamble and Ben Edlund, and co-executive producer Peter Johnson will all be there. According to SFUniverse.com, Jensen and Jared will also be doing an autograph signing on Saturday, July 26 from 5pm – 6pm at the Warner Brothers booth on the main convention floor. The producers from Supernatural will have a signing at the WB booth on Sunday, July 27 from 12:30pm – 1:15pm. If that’s still not enough Supernatural goodness for you, ShockTillYouDrop.com is reporting that Jared will be part of the Friday the 13th panel, which takes place July 27 at 1pm. Producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are expected to appear, as will the man who plays the maniacal Jason Voorhees, Derek Mears. A teaser trailer for the film is expected to be revealed. Jensen may keep busy as part of a panel for his upcoming horror flick My Bloody Valentine 3-D, but that’s still unconfirmed. It’s going to be a very busy Sunday for Smallville and Supernatural fans. You can still purchase tickets for that day of the convention by heading to Comic-Con.org, but if you can’t make it remember to check BuddyTV for all the latest updates. source: buddytv.com |

| Eric Kripke Signs Developmental Deal |
More changes for season 4 Variety reports that Eric Kripke, creator and executive producer for The CW’s horror drama Supernatural, has signed an exclusive two year development deal with Warner Brothers Television. Under the deal terms, Kripke will continue to be showrunner for Supernatural, which will head into its fourth season in the Fall. He will also start to develop other projects. There is speculation that one could be Supernatural-related; Eric Kripke has talked about wanting to do a prequel set in the old west. In other show news, TV Guide spoke with Eric Kripke, who says actress Katie Cassidy won’t be returning as Ruby the demon in season 4 after all due entirely to budgetary reasons. Eric Kripke had previously expressed his enthusiasm for the character as portrayed by Cassidy. The show already cut the other of the two recurring female characters added to season 3, the mercenary Bela (portrayed by Lauren Cohan), due to both budget and the showrunners agreeing with many fans that the character didn’t work. However, there was expectation that Katie Cassidy’s character would stay. In season 3, Ruby was a foil for Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki), offering to help him save his brother Dean (Jensen Ackles) from going to hell. The season ended on a cliffhanger with Dean in hell and Ruby’s fate uncertain. It actually isn’t clear if the character of Ruby will return, inhabiting other actors. The show previously did this with the character of the demon known as Meg (Nikki Aycox in season 1). Kripke told TV Guide there will be female characters in season 4, of the more one-shot variety. “We have a plan that’s as exciting as any we’ve ever had of how to thread new characters in some unexpected ways.” He also said that season 4 begins with “bombshells that will set the show off in a new direction.” source: firefox.org/news |

The 2008 Emmy Awards are fast approaching and one of the brightest talents gracing our TV screens today, actor Jensen Ackles has made the list of actors placed on the nomination ballot. Ackles, a boyishly handsome 30 year old who hails from Richardson Texas and currently stars as Dean Winchester on the hit CW/Warner Bros series Supernatural, along with co-star Jared Padalecki who plays Sam Winchester, has placed 28th on the ballot and is in the Category of ‘Outstanding Lead Actor in a Dramatic Series.’ Ackles, who began his acting career starring in the daytime Soap Opera Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady and moved on to roles in successful series such as Dawson’s Creek and Smallville landed the role of Dean Winchester in Supernatural three years ago. Since then viewers have been privy to have seen this talented and versatile young actor light up the screen with his dynamic brotherly chemistry with co-star Jared Padalecki, his flair for drama and his sense of comedic timing as his character Dean Winchester has undergone some very dramatic, sometimes funny and sometimes harrowing experiences culminating with Dean being forced into keeping a deal he made to trade his soul into hell for the life of his brother Sam in the third season finale. Ackles is currently in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area filming the horror flick , My Bloody Valentine: 3Din which Ackles plays Tom Warden, a mentally unstable young man who has returned to his home town ten years after a series of 22 brutal murders were committed and finds himself as the lead suspect in those killings.
